Carys Hughes

Carys Hughes started her harp tuition at Glan Clwyd School, St Asaph, North Wales, going on to further her studies at the Royal Academy of Music.

After leaving the Academy her first major professional work was with Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon in The Fair Maid of the West with Imelda Staunton and Pete Postlethwaite.

This lead to openings in numerous musical theatre productions in London's West End, including Carousel, Oliver! with Jonathan Price, Beauty and the Beast, The King and I with Elaine Page, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera, and The Producers, appearing on the original cast recordings of Oliver, Beauty and the Beast and King and I.
